What is Barre?
The barre format is a fusion of yoga, Pilates, and ballet technique. Prior ballet training or expertise is not necessary. Instruction takes place at the mat and barre. A variety of equipment is used, including light hand weights, small balls, and resistance bands. Expect results in the form of long lean muscles, a rock-solid core, and more limber ligaments.
What do I wear?
Comfortable body concession workout or yoga wear is recommended. Yoga leggings that hit below your knees are preferred over loose sweats. This fit allows instructors to better see your knees, helping prevent injury.
We recommend doing a “deep squat check” at home before wearing new leggings in public. Most leggings look totally opaque when standing up straight, but can become sheer when bending over or squatting.
Fitted tops are recommended as they help you stay aware of your core—a necessary element of Barre.
Lift Barre and Babies at the Barre classes are taken barefooted or with slip resistant socks. Regular smooth bottomed socks are prohibited to prevent injury. Lift & Sweat is a cardio class and a light running or training shoe is required.
All equipment is provided, but you are encouraged to bring a water bottle and sweat towel. No cell phones, heavy perfumes, or food in class, please.

How do I sign up and pay for classes?
Download the MINDBODY app from the app store to your smart phone, search for Lift, and make it your “home” studio. Or visit www.mindbody.com and search for Lift. You can register as a client, select your first class, and purchase either a single class or a class package.
The best deal is the 5 Class New Client Special for $50. At just $10 per class, you will have 30 days from your first visit to use the classes. The New Client Special only applies to first-time clients.
When do I arrive?
Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your very first class. This allows plenty of time to find the studio and go through a quick orientation with a staff person or instructor.
